SUMMARY:EcoSpark Nature Academy: Our Urban Pollinators
DESCRIPTION:Our Urban Pollinators will get you buzzing about bees\, butterflies\, birds and some-thousand other pollinating insects and animals!\nWhy learn about pollinators? There has been a steep decline in honeybee and native bee populations in North America. These declines in pollinator populations has been attributed to a number of things\, such as climate change\, habitat loss and neonicotinoid pesticides. \nWhat will I learn? Our Urban Pollinators will introduce you the roles native bees and other benefial insects and animals play in ecosystems and in producing human food and other plant products. You will leave this workshop ready to engage your students with species they can see buzzing and flying around the school grounds\, in their neighbourhoods and throughout the city! \nPlease note that release time is still available for TDSB teachers on a first-come-first-service basis for the weekday workshops. Full details on the Nature Academy website here. \n
