DESCRIPTION:Take action to improve the health of your local watershed! Join Evergreen and the Jericho Stewardship Group for citizen-science training and other activities taking place every month at Jericho Park\, Vancouver. You can help ensure the park’s waterway remains a vital and functioning part of the urban ecosystem\, by helping us monitor water quality\, as well as by removing invasive species and replacing them with native plants\, \nWho is a Citizen Scientist? That’s you! Become part of a growing network of active community members\, and: \n•  Learn about the local ecology of your watershed\n•  Help manage invasive species in the local ecosystem\n•  Plant native plants\n•  Monitor water quality of creeks in Jericho Park \nMeeting place: Wooden bridge over the Jericho Pond \nWhat to bring: Weather-appropriate clothing\, closed toe shoes and a water bottle or coffee mug. \nWhat they’ll provide: Training\, tools\, gloves and snacks \nCommitment: 3 hours per event \nContact: Drew MacDonald dmacdonald@​evergreen.ca \n
