Uncover Your Creeks – Lower Hume

October 15, 2017 @ 8:00 am - 12:00 pm

Take action to improve the health of your local watershed! Join Evergreen for citizen-science training and other activities taking place every month at Lower Hume Park in New Westminster. By helping us monitor water quality, as well as by removing invasive species and replacing them with native plants, you can help ensure the park’s Brunette River waterway remains a vital and functioning part of the urban ecosystem.

Who is a Citizen Scientist? That’s you! Become part of a growing network of active community members, and:

•  Learn about the local ecology of your watershed
•  Help manage invasive species in the local ecosystem
•  Plant native plants
•  Monitor water quality in the Brunette River

Meeting Place: Picnic Shelters at Lower Hume Park

What to bring: Weather-appropriate clothing, closed toe shoes and a water bottle or coffee mug.

What we’ll provide: Training, tools, gloves and snacks

Commitment: 3 hours per event
